We are a provider of ISP backend services (billing, provisioning, authentication, settlement etc.) and are contemplating the adoption of SaaSGrid for future initiatives. Since we plan to offer services via resellers and partners only, the lack of 'reseller billing' is a glaring shortcoming.
If need be, we could interface SaasGrid with our own billing system that is reseller capable -- but then we would lose the desired SaaS functionality of SaaSGrid.
Can the missing functionality be added to SaaSGrid? What is the level of effort involved?
Any suggestions?
Thanks for your interest in SaaSGrid.
Let me start by clearing up some potential confusion. Even if you were to use your own billing system, you would still get all the SaaS benefits provided by SaaSGrid: the multi-tenancy, the scalability, the metering and monetization, etc.
Providing reseller billing capability is not currently part of the SaaSGrid roadmap. However, if it's something that proves desirable to a number of our customers, it may be considered for a future release.
That said, it is possible to integrate the existing SaaSGrid billing engine with your own billing system and to make calls into the SaaSGrid engine from your application.
